Slides in or out

We are seasonal camper on the site 3 months at a time. Visited a different camp ground for Labor Day weekend and all the seasonal people left before lunch and we talked with a lot of them and they return every weekend. But they all pulled there slides in. In and out every weekend. Is it good to do that?

Keystone and Lippert both advise you to activate the slide mechanism from time-to-time.

Not going to hurt but when we were seasonal, most opened their slide on May 1 and closed them on Oct 15.

Closing them will keep the UV off the rubber seals and keep them in good condition longer.
