Thoughts on a Nose cap wrap?

Saw a product for 5th wheels that is a fabric cover that goes over the nose cap for bugs and other impact protection etc. No application for travel trailers.
Got me thinking about a clear wrap on the nose cap for my TT. Local shop will do a clear wrap for $1500. Kind of spendy but very high quality thick 3M film Thoughts, expirience with, Pros Cons?

Just a thought but if you applied protective film yourself, might be less expensive. The link below sells this stuff and I would think you could install by slightly overlapping more narrow pieces (not the 8' width of your cap). Doubt the overlap would be unsightly. Take a look... never used this company and there are probably others:

Lots of motorcycle trike builders use this type stuff on fenders that catch a lot of small stones and would otherwise get nicked up.
