Power converter shot

My power converter died on me this weekend. I'm replacing it but does anyone know if one brand is better than another? I have a WFCO 75AMP. Should I buy the same or a different brand? Thanks.

Personal opinion is to stay away from WFCO, as you've just experienced, long term reliability doesn't seem to be great. I've had very good luck with Progressive dynamics (PD) units, and IOTA is another good brand. In my 295RE I never could get the WFCO to go into bulk charge mode, combination of bad design on WFCO's part and bad placement (25' run to battery) on Keystones part. PD replacement unit works fine.

I have seen this website and the people that work for the company lauded again and again on other forums.

http://www.bestconverter.com/

I would prowl the website and if your question isn't answered there than either email or call them. Others have said that they are easy to work with, have good recommendations, and have the best prices and service. JMHO

The one that everybody seems to think is the one to replace a WFCO with is a Progressive Dynamics. Seems the one you need would be:

Thanks everyone! I purchased a PD9280. I'll install it this weekend while I'm camping. Let you know how it works out. Thanks again!

The PD9280 worked great. The only thing is the plug from the converter won't go all the way in the receptacle. My old one was the same way. It's the right 20amp plug and receptacle but doesn't go all the way in. Hangs out about a 1/4 inch. Anyone else have this problem?
