air conditioner and fan not working

Plugged in air conditioner to house and worked. Not thinking I hit furnace switch it stopped working. Only clicking for ac. Then no clicking for ac. Checked house fuse and blew it. Put house fuse back on then check ac fan now nothing. Checked fuse panel in rv all good. Checked 3amp fuse in a.c. board was good. Should I hook up generater for ac? Have 4k watt gen. Have a 5k road trip very soon to warm BC and need to know if ac is working. New at thisthanks

When you turn on the A/C are you waiting long enough for the delay to time out????? When I set my thermostat to COOL and set temp, it will take up to 6 minutes before the A/C will start. This is a safety so the compressor does not short cycle if power is lost. (or someone switches from cool to heat and back again ) Check all your breakers and GFIC on home outlet again, switch thermostat to cool, fan to auto, set temp and wait. It may seem like forever but give it time. JM2¢, Hank
BTW........ Welcome to the forum.

I just looked at your profile and see you have an EFS (pre '07) model ????? Most likely a mechanical thermostat. If you can replace it with a digital ... you won't be sorry.

Did what u said but no avail. 3k Genertor running. One plug was tripped now reset. Getting power to ac box but nothing at 3amp fuse with tstat on. Had current through fuse last night via ohms tester. Bad fuse? Or can breaker be shot? Power there too. Thanks for help.
