Fantastic Fan

I have a 2019 cougar 22rbswe and I want to install a electric fan in the front roof vent. Is the vent prewired for this ? If you have one is it worth it . I have heard that those that have one love it. Looking at the brand Fantastic any thoughts ?

The fantastic fan is on my wish list also. The reviews are amazing and the fancy one with temperature control and auto close for rain looks like a no-brainer.

I don't have that make or model, but looking at the videos and photos of your camper, you could remove the frame around that vent and check for wires. If none are there, you might be able to tap into the wires running to the light. However, if the light is on a switch, anything you power into the light will also be on a switch.

Your best option is to remove the vent cover and see if wires are there.

Just an FYI. Our current Montana High Country has 2 of those fantastic fans factory installed. They also have the rain sensor.

Just an FYI regarding them? They are really nice vents and fans. But we did not like the rain auto feature. When raining, the windows are closed, things get stuffy, and you need air ventilation flow, especially if cooking inside, or the dog farts! When it's raining, those vents don't open.

We ended up putting vent covers over then (on the roof, outside). Problem solved. They don't close when it rains now, because rain does not hit them. The vent and fan continues to run when it rains as the cover keeps them dry and keep rain from coming in, and cooking smoke and dog farts are quickly removed.

NOW, we absolutely love them!

Skip the auto close rain sensing feature and get vent covers, then you can leave the vent open all the time.

Or get Maxxvent. They don’t need a vent cover. Mine are 10 speed in/out and very quiet.

I installed the Maxxfan Deluxe and pulled the power across the ceiling from the antenna booster.

I wish I would have installed the fantastic fan with remote, my DW can’t reach that high.
