Help!

Need some quick. I have been in a 3rd shift funk for the last 2 weeks as my sleep patterns, Sleep Apnea, insomnia and RLS really acting up, but I haven't kept up with the weather the last few days as much. Still kind of drying out from Zeta downpours. BUT!, it is supposed to be around 28-32* tonight and tomorrow night. IS there anything special I need to do to stave any freeze damage? The Outback goes to a new home on Thursday and do not want something to happen. Completely slipped my mind on the weather.

Grey Tank 2 was full this afternoon but has been dumped. Black and Grey 1 are barely half full. Do I need to dump those too and what else? I have a heated water hose, do I need to connect that? BTW....it will get back up into the mid 50s-lower 60s during the day. Thanks!

If your living in it, you should be ok. Black, gray and fresh tank are like giant ice cube trays. If they aren’t full then there is room for expansion.

If your not living in it, I would open the low point drains and the faucets to drain the fresh system.

We are living in it right now. So, dump the other 2 tanks, regardless of their status?

No worries. If the lowest it is going to be is right around freezing for the entire night then that will occur just before/around daybreak. The rest of the time it wouldn't even freeze anything. The volume in the tanks at 1/2 full or less will keep that from being a problem. If you're still staying in it the furnace is probably keeping the underbelly warm anyway. 28-32 for that short of a period should be just fine - I never worry about it....IF it is going to bounce back to reg temps during the day.

Edit: If it's going to be colder for longer or not heat back up in the daytime I suppose you could turn off the water, disconnect the hose, drain the low point drains then open the faucets....but the description you gave doesn't require that.

Well, dopey me, I drained them anyway. Even got it backwards. Grey first then black. Guess I will wait til DW takes another shower and rinse out the Black. residue

Thanks guys. Got out of my routine there a bit.
