Furnace problem
We're having a problem with our gas furnace. It heats just fine, but when it gets up to the setpoint, the heating unit cuts off, but not the fan. Thus, it continues to blow cold air into the camper. The heat never cycles back on, so it's like air conditioning blowing in! The only way to get the fan to cut off is to pull the fuse, which unfortunately is the same fuse that operates the fridge. Anyone know what we need to do to fix this?

Is your thermostat set to AUTO on the fan switch???? If it is set to on the fan will run constantly. If it is set to auto there is a problem with the thermostat not the furnace. JM2¢, Hank

+1 on the fan, but seems like furnace should relite when it gets cold enough. You sure furnace never restarts heating? Ours has about a 5 degree swing before heat kicks back on, which is ok with us, but some don't expecty that big a swing.
Just a thought.

Yep, the fan is set to auto, and no, unfortunately it never cuts back to heating. We've replaced the limit switch but that didn't do the trick. We also bought a new sail switch, and will try that today.

Never mind....my husband fixed it! It was the sail switch. A pita to replace, but it did the trick! Thanks to everyone for your help.

Mine worked Fri night and after that no go.
Fan keeps running as well!!

Ron, I'm not really sure, and hubby is napping on the couch...zzzzz
But, if you get your furnace schematic out, you can find it, and its part number. We ordered it online (we live in the middle of nowhere so couldn't find it locally). It was less than $5 (of course the shipping more than doubled the cost). The problem is that you have to pull the furnace out to replace the switch. And of course, since we fixed it the temperatures have been in the 70s!

Not real sure that the sail switch is my issue though. I can smell propane at the exhaust vent for a bit when I try to light it.
I'm thinkin the sail switch would keep the gas from coming on at all if it was failing.......Could be wrong though, I have been ONCE before!!
