Satellite help
We have Dish TV using a playmaker and a wally while traveling. Is there a direction you are supposed to point the handle. Dish Network told me to point the handle North and Winegard told to point the handle South. Which is right???

Dish network and direct tv are two different providers and I don’t believe they share any satellites, so I would go with dish since that’s what you have.

I have dish. Point handle north for the unit to do the search and lock in on signal

Per the Dish and Playmaker instruction book....handle goes roughly north.

We have the Dish tailgater and always point the handle North. I also level the dome as much as possible.

handle orients to the north, the dish is searching south east or south west and the handle should not be obstructing the clear view of the sky

Dish sats are south. Handle north.

As everyone said, handle North, dome South. I also use a free app called SatFinder Lite which helps spot the exact location of satellite 110, 119 and 127 to further tune the direction of the dome.
It’s come in handy to relocate the dish if there’s a tree in the way. I never setup my satellite without it.

Years ago I bought a DISH combo, a sat receiver and a Winegard Pathway X1. At that time it was about $500.00 for the combo. I have never had a problem and never hads to point the handle in any specific direction. I place the Pathway X1 on the roof or on the ground with a clear view of the sky, turn on the receiver and the rest is done by the Pathway. It is probably 10-11 years old but still works like a charm.

Handle north for Dish network. If you are still having problems, you might need to re-active your Dish box using the MyDISH app.

Last month we bought the tailgater pro. Love the unit. Our Satellites here in northern Wisconsin are 110 & 119

you are so right.. I use sat finder also. Dish has informed me that Sat 127 is being shut down

The satellite that Dish has decommissioned is 129, not 127.
