I tried this method once & pine scented poop while dumping was even worse than straight poop smell. It smelled as if we'd been on a diet of pine trees.
I used a 1/4-1/2 cup, never exactly measured just poured, dollar store liquid dish or laundry soap & dollar store fabric softener with about 3-5 gallons of water after dumping & rinsing, which worked well, at least no bad odors inside.

You might consider switching to a microbial tank treatment like Unique brand “ Digest it” liquid treatment . Available at Amazon,Walmart , and other places. These microbes eat poo and toilet paper and keeps your black tank clean. The microbes will actually go up the walls of your tank and keep everything clean. NO STINK EVER! In fact, they tell you not to flush your black tank after dumping while you are using your rv. Once you are ready to put your rv in storage, you give your black tank a good flush out at that time. The reason they don’t want you to flush after emptying your black tank is so you don't flush out all the microbes. Just add more tank treatment and about 3 gallons of water and you are good to go. Will also take care of any poo pyramid in an couple days if you have one. When I empty my black tank there are no solids. Since I started using this treatment three years ago I haven't had any stink issues or other issues. You can also use it in your grey tank once in a while to get rid of any food particles that may buildup in the grey tank. I swear by this stuff now. I have some happy camper that I had as a back up in case I run out of the Unique liquid Digest It. It will solve all your stink issues.

That sounds great Mike, I just ordered some, I'll definitely give it a try. Happy Camper hasn't impressed me.

I did just caulk around the floor where it meets the base of the toilet and cleaned the toilet and floor, still haven't had the nerve to go up on the roof and try to get the vent cap off and run water down it, I'm hoping I don't have to.

I don’t think you will have to do that until you see if this does the job. If memory serves me, its like 2 oz. Per 40 gal. For my first treatment I use slightly more than that just to make sure it gets kicked off good. Key is to add 3-5 gallons of water first, then add the treatment. I try to keep 2 bottles. One to use and one back up so I never run out. When I start second bottle I order more at that time. Whats nice about amazon is they most likely can deliver wherever you are if you need more. I think you will like this stuff. It needs a couple hours to break things down so if you use toilet shortly before you need to empty, you might have some solids when you empty but never a pyramid or stink. When you are ready to flush for storage, drain well and then put some dish soap like Dawn into the tank and put lots of water in the tank. Drive your rig around or otherwise get it rocking so it agitates and splashes around the tank well. Do that for a few minutes then empty. Add more fresh water, splash around, empty and flush well. You are done. You should not have any stink when you are ready for the next trip. Add 3-5 gal water to tank and treatment before you head out. Do this and you should never have anymore issues.

I dumped, did the No Fuss Flush spray water back in (not for a long time though) and I put the wand with the rotating head on it down the toilet for a couple of minutes.

I think it's not empty though, gauge says so (I know gauges can be wrong) but when I look down into the toilet I think I see liquid. Shouldn't be more than a couple of gallons in there, so possibly there's a blockage or buildup.

Hot water treatment? edit, you're talking about the seal hot water. I thought you meant putting boiling water down the toilet and letting it sit? Can you describe your process for this please?

I had the same Bullet with the same problem! In my case, I dislodged one of the valve pivot arms with my tank cleaning wand. Simple fix, just glove up, open the toilet valve, and reach in and reinstall the valve pivot arm. Hope this is your problem.

What were your symptoms? Did the bowl hold water or did the dislodged arm make the ball not seat properly so it didn't?

Were you able to slightly depress the flush pedal to fill the bowl with water? I am.

I didn't know about this however in the past so never bothered to fill the bowl with water.

Bathroom still stinks 2 days of camping. When I installed the no fuss flush I didn’t install a check valve under the sink. Could that cause this?

We keep water in the toilet bowl. How does the smell get in to the bathroom?

Camped for 4 days, keeping the fan running the whole time (except when flushing) kept the smell at bay, but upon arrival home it stunk in there.

So I ordered a replacement toilet from etrailer.com for $180 free shipping. I got the same model 300 as I know it will fit and they say it was redesigned to fix the problem.

Wife doesn't want me to do this, but no good reason, so I am moving forward. Looks like an easy job.

I've never ordered a 300 but make sure it comes with the floor gasket. Toilets usually do but you want to replace that for sure.

Edit: Don't remember if I mentioned it but during replacement is THE time to put a residential water cutoff and supply line to the toilet. Makes future situations much, much easier to deal with.

Your floor flange (2nd link) should be OK unless you have some reason to think it's broken. The gasket I was referring to appears to be on the toilet in the 3rd picture in the first link to the toilet you provided (showing the base/bottom).

Question Old Stevenick...do you have a black tank flush on your RV? If so there's probably a black fitting on the line to the tank under your sink in the bathroom. If that's faulting or installed backwards it will stink. There's a thread about that on here...that's how I found out about it...it stops any gases from flowing back. Always have liquid in the bowl and it shouldn't stink...leave antifreeze in during winter.

I installed an aftermarket black tank flush and didn't install the under sink attachment. No Fuss Flush.

Curious how that aftermarket one works? Mine you just screw in the outside shower hose into the tank flush right beside it which I recently found out about I used to unscrew the main hose and screw it to the tank flush...now I can use hot water if I want. Another thing...I added 3/4's of water in the black tank along with this special "commander" cleaner and let it sit for days, they drove to our last camping destination and dumped...the sensors work like new again and anything left on the tank bottom hopefully is now gone.

There is a hose that comes out of the bottom of the black tank. I attach a garden hose to it and fill the tank that way.

I just looked up the commander cleaner and it looks interesting, thanks.

Correction, I don't fill the tank, the hose connects to a sprayer that I installed in the bottom of the tank, so when I run the water through the inlet it sprays the inside.
