If you look in our Community forum (Social Groups), there are a number of Toyota Tundra owners who belong to a Tundra group. Not sure how active the group is, but you can see which members are in the group and perhaps join in yourself.

2012 5.7 Tundra DC

I have owned a bunch of trucks in my life. I bought the first Ford diesel in 1983 that our local dealership sold & have owned six since then including my last one a 2008 F350. I put 238,000 miles on it with minimum problems.

I got a 2012 F150 Ecoboost for work in January & already have 28,000 miles on it. It's a great truck with lots of power but...I like my Tundra better!

In December, we bought our Tundra for our personal truck to tow our 20' ski boat & our new 2013 21' Cougar. The Tundra is a fantastic tow rig. It handles our boat & TT like they aren't even back there & is way more comfortable to sit in all day than the Ford.

Our Tundra has 10,000 miles on it now & it got 18.5 MPG on our last tank without towing. While towing it seems to get around 10 MPG.

I would highly recommend the Tundra to anyone.

I have an 07 5.7 4x4 with 116k miles and I would not trade it for anything other than a newer Tundra. I tow an 8k pound 32' TT on trips as far a 2k miles and it is a perfect combination. I have had fewer issues with this truck than any of my others including an F350. I am expecting to put better than 300k hard miles on it before getting a new one. I even spent about a year with a 2k pound truck camper on the back...I have beat the crap out of her and it does not matter.

I got a 2012 Tundra 2WD 5.7 and I pull a Passport 2650BH and the only probablem I have is I forget it is back there and I have to slow down All joke aside, I have not had any problems pulling my 2650BH at all. And as another poster stated the only thing I would consider trading my Tundra for is another Tundra.

Another 2008 5.7L DC 4X4 here. Towing a 2011 Laredo 303TG (35ft) 7,400 dry with max loan of 9,000. So far longest trip was about 700 miles round trip and the truck pulled great (combined weight at weigh in was 15,200, well below he 16k max). I'd say I get aout 8-9mpg when towing. So far I have not done anything to he truck, however I would eventually like to add airbags to the back to handle some of the sag (even with the WD).

I have a 2011 Tundra 4WD, 5.7, Tow Package and tow a Cougar X-Lite 31SQB. I have not weighed yet with a full setup, but it tows great. I did add air bags because I have to travel quite a few back roads to get out to main roads and they helped out the rockin' down the back road. I have a Blue Ox WDH and I get little sway even when passing or being passed by 18 wheelers. I will say that I can feel myself being "sucked in" as the approach from behind, but as long as I seem them coming it's not a big deal. That may be common regardless of TV setup, but I don't know.

This is my first experience with towing a TT and the Tundra has made it great. You will hopefully never have to experience this, but feel comfortable in knowing that the Tundras have built in sway control that apply braking once it feels the back end swaying. I had this happen to me and it sounded like anti-lock braking was going on. It resolved the issue so quickly I didn't have time to try myself. I hit a rather large dip in a back road and it shook the travel trailer so hard it started pulling the rear end of the truck one way then the other. But again, the recovery was so fast it was over in a second.

10th anniversary 2011 250RS @ 6,000 dry.
2008 5.7L 4X4 DC with 10K Equalizer and Airlift 5000 airbags.

On a 1,200 mile round-trip tour of Wisconsin last year, including on the Madeline Island/Big Bay State park, our mileage average for the entire trip was 9.67 mpg ( actual miles/actual gallons used...not "computer" calculated), and that was with a lot of 2-lane and back-road driving.
Ride is comfy and it tows GREAT...even the timid wife is confident in driving it on 2-lanes. I added the airbags to eliminate "porpoising" on some concrete sectioned roads we regularly travel, and so I don't have to use the Equalizer on short-hauls around town, as well as making backing into tight/drastically uneven spots much easier.

The Tundra's been absolutely bullet-proof since I bought it new, as have all of my Toyota's since I got hooked on them in 1991.

We have a 2007 5.7 2WD Tundra and pull a Cougar 24RKS. It's a great truck and pulls it easily...even in Glacier NP and North Cascades NP We get 10 MPG while towing.

Toyota Tundra

In July I tired out the 2012 Ford 150 & the 2012 Toyota Tundra 2 wheel double cab 5.7 V8 and the Tundra WON!!! Hands down, I have had back surgery so it was important to find a right fit and it handled & comfort was like my 2007 Toyota Highlander I traded in, could not believe I was driving a Truck, have always been a Ford Truck owner but not anymore.
We are bringing home this week Our 2012 246RBS Bullet, can't wait to get out and enjoy the world of RVing

We haven't bought a Keystone yet. We're in the looking stage.
Anyway, I have a 2012 Tundra with a 5.7L engine. We're towing an older Mallard that weighs about 7100# fully loaded. The Tundra didn't have any real problem towing from MA to ME and NH and back this year. I was concerned because we went from a 2006 GMC 3500 with a 8.1L engine to the smaller Tundra. The Tundra kept up with traffic fine.

246 rbs Bullet is Home

Picked up Our New 2012 246RBS Bullet on Wed. and towed it home with Our 2012 Tundra 2w 5.7 double cab..... we live in the country with 2 lane roads of hills & curves and it was my first time towing anything behind the Tundra....Love, Love, Love the way it handled towing the Bullet, hardly new it was there.
Now it is time to fit the TT and take it out on some short shake down trips and get to know all about Our New RVing Adventures to come.
