TPMS Sensor

I was reading threads. I did search to try to find it again but using “TPMS” won’t work. What is the TPMS Sensor for TT tires that everyone is using?

TPMS - tire pressure monitoring system. Most popular I've seen is TST, which I use, from what I can tell but there are others. They consist of either flow thru monitors or those that screw on to the end of the valve stems. It is a system using the sensors that communicate to a monitor you carry inside the truck. Anyone towing an RV should have one....but, I'm sure from your posts and research you already knew all that?

I use the smaller TireMinder version. Windshield mount and solar charge option. (You’ll need metal valve stems so the weight of the sensor doesn’t bend your rubber stems over while in motion)

I got the in command TPMS. However, I haven't had a chance to use them yet.

I like that there is a phone version. Hubs won’t like it. I am the future married to the past. Imagine a computer married a pencil!

The version I have leaves the phone to itself and doesn’t burn up power or require a power cord hanging. It also displays both the pressure and temps of each wheel (4) simultaneously. Some others only show one at a time. I’m A bit OCD about my tires. I want to notice potential problems before the system alerts me. My first experience on a computer was the IBM PC AT. Circa 1986. Dad taught me Pascal (Turbo Pascal), windows wasn’s around yet. The days of DOS I guess you could say. I had a #2 pencil right next to it, sharpened. I prefer old school on a lot of things but technology does help.

We have the TireMinder version that uses the phone. But it runs just fine without the phone involvement -- there's a receiver inside the truck that beeps and flashes if it senses anything wrong, so you don't have to keep the phone running the app, or even turned on if you'd rather not. The phone app just tells you which tire is unhappy and why.

Typically we start up the app, then let it go to the background as the navigator does whatever else gets done on the phone. If the receiver starts beeping, we can switch back to the app in seconds to see if the problem is worth stopping for.

More often than not, the "problem" is that one of the tires is showing a false 0 PSI reading -- "exactly zero" is typically a lie, so after checking in the side mirrors, we usually don't stop for this. It always corrects itself after a few minutes. If the tire shows non-zero low or high out of range, though, we believe it immediately.

I have the EEztire, had it for several years on motorhome and toad, and now on the trailer. Each person will decide which features they feel are essential but the important things is not necessarily which brand but to GET a TPMS.

I’ve been using the TST 507 system with my Alpine and rear tires on my truck.. seven years of use and zero issues...

Batteries last well over a year and are easy to replace since I use the screw on Non flow thru ones...

The new version of the TST507 system now has a color display which is much easier to read in bright sunlight and I’m going to upgrade my monitor to that next spring..

Also the customer support from TST is outstanding

My wife and I are the exact opposite... she's the pencil and I'm the computer.. She's still trying to get the hang of asking her phone to call someone for her..

2020 GMC advanced trailering system! 15 cameras and wireless tire sensors.

Probably not an investment you want to make just for tire sensors
