Passport 199, adding hitch to rear bumper?

Hi, realizing the passport doesn't have a true rear bumper, has anyone added a hitch for a small trailer, to tow an ATV? I know it makes the overall tow weight more, but would like to bring my ATV, and not have to keep in truck bed.
Thanks for any thoughts....

First consideration: is it legal in your state? I’m not aware of many states that allow 2 ball mount trailers to be towed together. Overall length is another consideration.

Your location is listed as Madison CT. If that's where you're located, none of the New England states allow double towing. In fact, the entire eastern seaboard prohibits two trailers behind a tow vehicle. You'll need to get further west before you can double tow. As for double towing, nearly all states restrict it to fifth wheels only. There are a couple of "western states" that allow double towing with a ball hitch, bumper mount trailer. We saw several rigs in Idaho and Montana, but haven't seen any in other states...

Do some very careful research before spending money on something that you can't use where you live or primarily travel.

thanks for your insight. I spend all my time out in CO, and leave my camper out there. So I will definitely look into those details. It also seems rather cumbersome and tricky to be pulling two "trailers." I'm thinking keeping the ATV in the truck bed is the way to go, simpler, and safer. Again, thanks!
