awning issue

what would be causing the awning to get creases in it when it is rolled back in ? what can i do about it ?

The creases may be caused by not having enough tension on the awning when it is being retracted. Because it is loose, it results in folds or creases as it is rolled in. Another possible cause is that the awning is not square or properly aligned with the track on the RV. This could result in creases which are usually found at one end only.
Try keeping the awning taut when you roll it back in and you might want to check if it is out of square.

Festus is right, the awning isn't square with the trailer. what the installer is suppose to do install a screw on the awning track on the trailer at each end, but this is rarely done. with the awning in you should see an uneven overlap on the end, so you need to roll the awning back out and slide the fabric forward or backward which ever way that would make the overlap even. once you roll the awning in and out a few times, it will straighten itself, then put screws at each end of the awning track on the trailer. same thing applies on slide toppers. hope this helps......happy campin..................ron

do i pull the awning at the trailer or at the roller ?

pull the awning at the trailer. the roller will automatically center itself.............ron
