Ladybugs

Anyone ever have ladybugs in their RV? It seems like every late winter and early spring they get inside my trailer in large numbers, and this year they’re showing up in there now.

Yes, and they seem to cluster around the skylight vent, hugging the screen. They rarely seem to fly anywhere else in the trailer. They eventually work themselves out - I suspect in the space around the knob to open the cover and the screen itself. Not sure how they manage to get in. Fortunately, nothing else seems to want to live in the trailer (outside the trailer is a different story).

Are they the brown Asian Beetle or the red and black lady bugs? The AB lay eggs and hatch later. They are a pain to get rid of.

We never had them in the Cougar but we did have the Asian Beetles in our attic one year. I found a shop-vac or Dust-buster the easiest way to collect them and release them outside. Those little critters multiply worse than rabbits. They do try their best to get out but helping them prevents them breeding again.

.

I think this year was a bad year for lady bugs, from their perspective a good year. My sister had a lot of them in her garden this summer. I have heard a few people complain this year.

Around here it was house flies that were a bother.

Hodgy, go to Google search for "blow flies," and the rest of you can go to https://www.ladybuglady.com/infestation.htm

Normal Lady bug nuisance, but the Stink Bugs were by the thousands. All over the trailer at one point...

We didn't have them or stink bugs too badly this year but in prior years, thousands. They will eventually die then can be vacuumed up. So far have not encountered the Asian variety but probably will eventually. I guess, given a choice would prefer the lady bugs over love bugs. At least the lady bug guts can be much more easily washed off the 5ers and truck's front end

They are probably Asian Beetles. We never saw them before until about 3 years ago. I thought they were ladybugs at first. Seemed to be hatching and flying out of the oak trees behind the house. They can bite pretty good too.
