MoRryde vs trail air
Any help with deciding on what to get? The moRryde seems cheaper put for the price increase for the trail air is it worth the cost?

Never felt the need of either, but I see a lot more of the MorRyde around the campgrounds...

Depends on which one you're getting. I've towed both and didn't notice much if any difference. As for the trailair, look into the roto flex, it's much cheaper and works very well. I have that on my current 5er and wouldn't pay more for the higher end systems.

I am getting the Anderson ultimate fifth wheel so the roto I thinks gets locked out. But that would have been good. So I am leaning to the moRryde. Thanks!!

I don't think you can "lock out" a Roto flex. I know mine doesn't have that option.

I don't know all of the details with the Andersen hitch, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with the roto flex.

You don't mention your Tow Vehicle. I'm with Javi on this one though. The reason I went with the 'long box' was for a 'better ride'. Granted I fall into the category of 'looking what's out there'- - however I just can't justify purchasing something else when the ride is pretty darn smooth already! We have the plain ol' solid Lippert pinbox and the Reese 20k hitch.

I had the plain ol solid lippert box, then a customer changed his roto flex to a trail air. I got the rotoflex for a song and a dance.

With the Anderson if you have the rotoflex you need to get a special part that is called a lock out. You need to get this part with flex air or rotoflex. I am not sure what it does but I assume it locks some of the rotation.

I have a trail air and I would never have a fifth wheel without one. I have tried several company's and I liked the trail air the best.

Did you have the moRryde? Do you have any specifics on the diff in ride? The trail air is about double the cost. 700 installed vs 1300

As I said earlier I've never felt the need but that doesn't mean I've never pulled trailers outfitted with them... They are a band aid for not enough truck, or poor hitch setup...

The main area you will notice a difference is on a concrete highway. A standard pin box will give a chucking feeling (constant bounce with the road seems) on many trailer setups. With my last RV it about drove my DW insane. The cushioned pin box eliminates the chucking and makes for a more pleasurable towing experience.
As for the extra cost of the Trailair, I don't see it as being worth it. The cheaper roto flex I have works great, the trailers I towed with a MoRyde worked great. At nearly double the price of a MoRyde, I just don't think you would notice enough difference to justify the expense. Since you can't use a roto flex, I'd go MoRyde.

I had an older 5er that I bought used and it had a 5th Airborne pinbox. Never saw one before or again. It had what looked like a shock absorber which had to be pressured up. All I can say it made a difference. Very smooth pulling with no chucking at stops and starts.

I installed the Mor-ryde on my Impact and was very happy with the results. The air ride was too heavy and expensive in my mind.

I had a MorRyde on the last rig. Didn't really notice it did much from the previous rig to that one, and I don't notice anything missing without it on the current rig. Current rig is bigger and heavier and I would expect it to ride worse, but I don't see any difference. Drove a lot of the same routes with and without it and I'm not feeling I'm missing anything.
