John, Beautiful truck!!!! This is the first time I have seen your place without snow. Best of luck and many, many trouble free and safe miles. Enjoy the new car smell ....... it may be a few years before the DW even lets you into a showroom for a sniff. Very happy for you, Hank

Love it, I like the 250/2500 class trucks myself. What's the payload?

The truck we bought has Ford mud flaps and wheel well liners from the factory. I did order Weathertec floor liners for the front and rear. Those rubber mats from Ford just won't handle the snow/ice tracked in up here......

The sticker on the door says 2477, but I want to weight it with/without the trailer on our first trip out of town. I know I'll be well within the payload, but I still want to know exactly where I sit so there's never a doubt. Heck, with all the "preaching" I do on here about "know your weights" I'd be remiss if I even considered towing past the first CAT scale LOL

Of course you could run over to Canyon and go thru Palo Duro canyon.....or better yet, you might just camp there and go see the play "Texas" - that's pretty cool.

It would hurt too much to even attempt that Big Texan steak, I'm not into cloggers, and chasing tumbleweed just isn't my thing.... We've got some "military buddies" that we haven't seen in years, so we're stopping to spend a couple of days "rehashing the hash from SEA". Then it's "directly east, out of town with the rear view mirror "tilted up so we can't see what we're leaving" LOL Not that I think Amarillo is anything but "wunnerful", but between Wichita Falls and Amarillo, I spent a couple of years there one dreadful weekend.................. No more cross country flights to that part of Texas for the rest of my 30- year career LOL........

Keep us posted, I look forward to hearing about the difference. Having just gone from a 1/2 ton with 5.3L gas, to the 3500HD with diesel ... not worth the bandwith to write about.
And Amarillo ... if time permits and you've not camped at Palo Duro Canyon State Park, I highly recommend it. Texas has a great series of state parks. At last count, 65 with hook-ups, I've camped at 23 (25 if you consider my pre-trailer days!), 12 others on my short list. Hard pressed to pick a favorite, Palo Duro Canyon is right up there though.
Safe (and enjoyable!) travels.

Somehow I missed this post, probably because we spent all weekend with no cell or internet service, but a belated big congrats! That's awesome! And your right about the color, it's perfect. My buddy has a Cougar with the same colors as yours and just bought a Chevrolet in a similar brown tone and it looks fantastic.
