Why would you place the A/C in the bunk area?

That is about the only thing I don't like about the unit. We have been out in it for a number of weekends and I think if someone was to be sleeping in the bunk it would be to noisy for them.

Not any different than having a 2nd AC in a front bedroom. Can they be noisy, yes, but to be honest I sleep better with the AC noise. It's somewhat comforting once you get used to it. Even if Afghanistan I took the corner of the tent near the AC. Everyone else avoided that corner because of the "noise", I loved it and slept like a baby.

If you are looking for an efficient A/C that is quiet, take a look at the Atwood Air Command. I just put one in the garage of my Raptor and it is much less noisy than the other Coleman units. Also comes with a remote and draws less power than the others.
