Easy love bug removal!

I was watching the local news on TV the other day and a reporter was at a car detailing shop talking about car care. One subject was removing love bugs. The detail shop owner said to use dryer sheets. I knew we had some so thought I would try it. The front of my truck was covered and they had been on there a few days.
It works! I wet the grill down and started rubbing the bugs with a Bounce sheet. They came off super easy. The sheets are thin enough that you can feel when you have the bugs off. When I first started some white chalky chemical came out of the sheet. If whatever that is dries on the chrome it is a little tough to get off. Otherwise it works great.

Good info Don't have Love Bugs here in our dry, dusty valley. But we hope to make it to the east soon to visit family.
Has anyone tried baking soda? When I trucked up and down Oregon's hwy 97 the green bugs around Klamath Lake would be so bad one had to stop half-way around to clean the windshield. Used a solution of baking soda and water. It would sizzle like when you clean your battery terminals.

The next time I de-bug a grill I will rinse the sheet out and see if the white chemical rinses out.
I used the dryer sheets on the hood paint as well. Didn't notice any scratches.
