Don't believe the sea level is rising, check this out.

Here are a couple of pictures of the beach at Hunting Island SP. The sea has taken away two rows of sites in the last 15 years according to locals.
Where these trees are growing was once part of the campground.

The dead trees were once of the State Park and at low tide you can walk out to them and high tide there are approx. 300 yards off shore. This is not driftwood they are rooted into the sand where they were once growing.

That's were the pacific ocean is going?. Here on the Wa coast at my beach house the surf is at least 1/4 mile to maybe 1/2 at points out from where it was in the 1880s. It states that and has photos. On the Or coast at state park in Newport the walking trail shows where the surf was 100 years ago, 50 etc. and they are all further from the camp ground. The state park property is much bigger now than before. We walked that trail 2 years ago, I cannot say how far out the ocean is but, it is measured and marked on the trial.

According to the GPS we are 18' above sea level. Maybe my next mod should be pontoons for the Cougar. .............. Of course no one considers that the landmass may be sinking........ or maybe the extra mass of our expeditions left behind on the moon have increased it's gravitational pull on the tides.

There is a significant difference between beach erosion and sea level rise. Hunting Island is experiencing the former, not the latter

Here in Michigan we are trying to find funding to dredge the boat ramps and channels/harbors in Lake Michigan and Lake Huron. Lake Superior is also lower than in the past 100 years.

"They" (whoever that might be) says this is a "normal cyclic event" that occurs every 250 to 300 years. I'd like to know which one of "they" was here to verify that theory.......

Anyway, Lake Michigan broke the all time low record in December of 2012. Previously, 1964 was the lowest the lake had ever been.

It seems the Great Lakes are still flowing downstream but the snow and rain are not keeping up with the runoff resulting in the record low levels. I guess that water is flowing into the ocean, causing it to rise. Maybe it's not evaporating fast enough to refill the great lakes???????

el nino

when "THEY" were first using el nino they said it was an event that came around every 300-400 years. that's been about 4 el nino's ago. so to put it plainly THEY don't know. I do know the polar ice is melting. and heat expands molecules

Uh, better check that polar ice cap. Funny thing how the earth rarely fits our theories on how it works and how it seems to be able to adjust regardless of what we do. So I actually went and looked up the mean sea level charts for the past 150 years. No need to worry, the average rise per year is 1.7 Milimeters. The trend over the last few years has been about 3 mm but it is part of cyclic nature of climate. The earths long cycles of cooling and warming is no secret to anyone who has ever read a science biology book. We are currently in a warming cycle which many believe actually ended 15 years ago as supported by global temps. Whether it is just a pause in the rise or if the cycle is toward cooling none of us will be alive to recognize by the time it is known. My source was the 2009 NOAA publication;

Technical Report NOS CO-OPS 053
SEA LEVEL VARIATIONS OF THE UNITED STATES
1854-2006
