Opening Slides and Levelling, Which Comes First?

I'm new to the 6 point Level Up system and 3 slides on my coach. When we setup camp for the first time, do I level the coach or open the slides first? If it makes a difference, we dry camp in the desert, so we are always on very uneven ground (sand).

Thanks

I always level first before putting the slides out.

I have always understood that you should level first, then do the slides. When the unit is level, the slides run smoother and have less chance to bind. Also, without the jacks in place, putting out the slides torques the frame of the camper and puts stress on the load bearing arms of the slide. This has the potential to cause gaps between the slide-wall and camper wall and could create leaks.

Ditto... level first, slides after.

--OR-- when all else fails, read directions ... [just joking around, no disrespect intended! ]

Keystone Owner's Manual

Chapter 5: Unit Set Up; Pg 30

Leveling Procedures listed first... then, Hook Ups:

1}. Once the unit is safely leveled and stabilized, continue with set-up;
2-7}.......
8}. Open slide-outs
9}. Set up the remaining features as needed

Chapter 6, Appliances and Equipment; Pg 40:

Level Up (4 or 6-point leveling)
If equipped, is a hydraulic leveling system designed for towable RV’s. Please refer to the manufacturer instructions supplied with the unit for care and operation and/or www.lci1.com.

Level-up system videos also shows "level first".
