Is the TV enough for Premier 30REPR

Hello, I am new to this we are going to be Pulling a Premier 30REPR 6450 Dry with 745 tongue weight with GMC Sierra 1500 4wd ext. cab 9600 max towing. 5.3 and 3.42 rear end with HD trailering equipment and Z85 Handling/trailering suspension. Has anyone tried this combo yet? Hope it works.

My 2010 has the same specs, except its a 2wd with 9700# max. towing. My 32SAB weighed in at the scale at 9235# loaded and tongue weighed right under 1200#. I have a 1400# Equalizer, upgraded 1600# hitch receiver, and air bags(which I never use). I'm a little over on the tongue(1100# max with WDH) and payload, but it pulls very well. It don't do we'll on steep hills(about 45mph), but its been a great tow vehicle.

I have a 2010 Silverado Crew Cab with the same engine/gears except Crew Cab, and I tow a Cougar 29rev with a dry weight of 6,795lbs. My tongue weight with a 12k equalizer is 940lbs, total trailer weight is ~7,500 lbs so far. I'm within all of my truck's weight limits and it tows it OK. I can maintain speed up hills and pass slow drivers if needed, but I can certainly tell it's back there! I think you will be fine.

Make sure tow set up your weight distribution hitch properly.

Just bought a 30REPR with three slides and I had a Ford F150 King Ranch 4WD with 5.4 and 3.73 axle. I pulled it 40 miles from the dealer to my house. It did ok on level road, but on the hills it was straining a little and lost speed. The hills were not steep and the camper was of course empty. I decided with all the things that you put in the camper and the weight added, air conditioner running in summer, pulling it 200 to 300 miles with some hills and heavy traffic that it would put a strain the motor and transmission. So I decided to buy a F250 diesel with a 6.7 and it was a good decision. Went on my first trip with gusty winds, rain and snow - NO PROBLEM. I have the Reese dual cam hitch.

If you have the 4 speed tranny it will struggle up large hills. If you have the 6 speed tranny you should be ok, exept you wont win any races up the side of a mountain.

I think you will learn to hate that 5.3 and the 3.42 gears. Not a great combination for a TT of that weight. Other than that your TV will handle the TT just fine.

I agree. That engine and trannie combo doesn't make it a stump puller. It will probably do OK on the straights and open road, but any kind of hilly terrain isn't going to be much fun.
