Any info on Lakewood Campground - Swanton, VT?

Hi All,

We are looking for a seasonal site for 2013 in either north west Vermont or north east NY, around Lake Champlain. Being from Montreal, we want somewhere no more that 1.5 hours from home for week-end get-a-ways but close enough to Plattsburg NY or Burlington VT for (you guessed it!) great cross border shopping. We have always camped in State / Provincial parks and are use to large wooded, private lots. We are not really into the Resort type campground where you are racked in 5 feet from each other, unless we are on our vacation (one week or more). We do like the option of having a pool avaiable but prefer natural lake beach for swimming.

So far one campground that looks promising is Lakewood Campground in Swanton VT. Another in McIntyre Campground in Ausable Forks, NY but a little far for our liking.

Anyone have any feedback for either?

Anyone have any recommendations for what we are looking for?
