grills/camp stove
we're going to be camping for a week with no hook ups. Normally I would cook in the camper but even with the air running it gets hot. We're thinking of getting a grill/camp stove. Anyone out there have a favorite they use? I mostly reheat - don't like to take raw meat - so thinking a camp stove with burners would be nice but will take any reasonable suggestion

Tina, you'll get about 15 favorites here, but the one that comes to the top (no not us, we are charcoal people) will be the Blackstone. The tabletop can be had right here for a good price. You can also pay up to $900 or so for their big mama.

I use a camp chef 3 burner that has a cast iron griddle. Just like eating food from the grill of your favorite diner

If you don't take raw meat I'm assuming you don't cook raw meat either. Reheating can be done in the microwave. If all you want is some gas burners to heat stuff in a pot you might look at the Coleman Road Trip grills. Excellent gas burners with lots of versatility for griddle/grill tops, coil gas burner tops etc. Comes with a folding table. Loved ours but just cooked too hot for a grill and loved to flare. Love my Blackstones too but lots of trouble to just "reheat" anything IMO.

I bought the Blackstone tailgater:
https://blackstoneproducts.com/colle...mbo-with-cover
One of the items that I like about it is that the legs are independently adjustable which is great for non-concrete pads. Anyways in our total of 7 weeks of travel we use it almost everyday. Our son-in-law was so impressed he bought the 'at home version' (huge) griddle.
Where I don't think it will withstand nor have the capacity of our real football tailgates. It might accompany the current setup just for breakfast sandwiches from the griddle.

Mostly because of smell we almost never cook in the TT.
I like a small propane grill that I can set up wherever. 1 LB propane tanks are not expensive and very portable.
After 5 years or so they start to rust and I buy a new one.

We used our 17" Blackstone all of last weekend, but for heating other things for the GD, we took along our old air fryer. We used it outside on the table with the Blackstone. Of course, this is electric and wont work if your boondocking without a generator. We also have a Cuisinart small propane grill, but have not tried it out yet. Good luck with your search.

Since you are not cooking but just reheating I would not recommend a flat top grill. A grill with a lid you can close and with at least 2 burners. If you turn on one burner on low and place the meat over the burner that's off you can get indirect heat to reheat. The Coleman Roadtrip would be good for that although it is a bit bulky and heavy if that's an issue.

I use a 2 burner Camp Chef stove and really like the options of using 2 burners at one time. However, it is very heavy. I like the weight & portability of a Blackstone. Either one has its pluses and minuses

An old fashioned Coleman camp stove can't be beat, if all you want is a stove top with burners. They are relatively inexpensive, use the 1 pound propane bottles, store easy, and extremely portable. Considering you are boom docking, you want to save the power in your batteries as much as possible. So, using a stove or griddle that uses propane is your best option. Unless you decide to cook over a fire.
