The same thing has been available for people with disabilities for many years. Good at Federal locations not state.

I think the disability had to be 100% though. This is for anyone who is a veteran. And all you have to do is have it on your drivers license. Pretty much anyone who has had at least 2 years in the military.

Free is good! I don't have one of the following as recommended, but we both travel with copies of our DD214.

Department of Defense Identification Card
Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC)
Veteran ID Card
Veterans designation on a state-issued U.S. driver’s license or identification card

I'm in the same situation. But I do not travel with my DD214, it's too priceless to me. I do have the long copy and the short copy, I suppose I could leave the long at home and travel with the short one?

Oh, no, only copies. The originals are at home in the fire safe.

I just took my DD214 to the DPS station and had "Veteran" put on my DL. From what the article says, that's all that's needed.
