Billowing/ bubbled roof

Thought this was maybe worth a shot if the person is a member on the forum.

If you were driving west on I-90 between Sioux Falls, SD towards Mitchell at around 1:00-1:30 this afternoon (July 7th) and have a Cougar X-Lite (or maybe the Half Ton?) and have a tan roof membrane, please check your roof membrane. It was lifted up in a bubble in the wind from not being glued down properly behind the front cap. And if I remember correctly, that usually leads to ripples in the roofing and possible tearing.

I was so busy looking at the roof bubbling up in the wind, I didn’t even look at the truck towing it. Sorry I can’t help more that way.

That was the fourth roof I saw doing that on this trip, but only one that was a keystone product. Ugh.

Bless your heart, Lynette. Hopefully those folks will recognize themselves on here. You may have saved them a lot of grief (and money). Isn't this forum great?

You just described half the rvs out there. Mine did this when very new. Amazing they can’t get this right. I see this all the time.

I'm constantly on the interstates all over the country and I too see many RV's with the "rippling roof". Is this the norm?

Apparently normal misapplication of the roof membrane!
If it's like most contact cements there's a cure time before placing both pieces together, but RV assembly either rushes to quickly or their 5 minute training courses should be 10 minutes so they can learn ALL the steps.

Given that Heartland alone produces 70 units per day, 35 TT, 35 fifth wheels (that was the number in 2011 when I hauled exclusively for them) I'm sure there is some corners cut.
