What I seem to hear, see, and feel when I run various mixtures of Biodiesel...

Around Texas the pumps will have UP TO XX% posted...

5% .... Truck feels as if it run smoother, is definitely quieter and the mileage is better...

10% .... throttle response is slower, noticeably louder than 5% and mileage drops from 18.5 -19.5 to 17.5 - 18... (these are hwy mileages)

20% ..... if I'm unfortunate enough to need to fill up with this stuff.. Truck takes longer to start, throttle response is that of an older 6BT 5.9 with 12 valves.. it'll still pull but sounds like a thrashing machine and mileage drops to 15 - 16...

This is why I started running 8 to 10 oz of Diesel Kleen in every fill... it seems to level it out a good bit... miss a fill-up and it's noticeable..

It is rare for me to stop for fuel until I need to pump at least 27 to 30 gallons....

I try to avoid truck stops because of the B20. I haven't noticed any difference but I don't make an effort to check mileage etc. It is what it is.
Some diesel at Shell stations is not a Shell product and should have a sticker to that effect on the pump. The Shell refinery in Deer Park TX is configured to maximize diesel production. It's a cash cow for world markets.
I should be using Diesel Kleen. Just can't remember to put it on my WalMart list.

In doing some research on B20 diesel I have found both pro's and con's. It seems to depend on who it seems to benefit the most whether it is rated good or bad. I found this to be the most objective:
