Round Trip to New Jersey

The DW and I (and our 105# Yellow Lab) just returned from a 7 week, 9250 mile trip to the east coast and back. Our 2011 Ford Super Duty performed great with no problems (touch wood). Our 2012 Cougar 282 RESWE fitted with E rated Carlisle's was problem free with one exception. The quick disconnect on our Flo-Jet pump developed a crack. We caught it before everything was soaked and a new fitting was obtained from Humphrey's RV in Grand Junction, CO. (great folks-very helpful-took their time to make sure we had what we needed). We are always the "rolling road block" as we travel at 60 -62 mph.
The truck burned 718.06 gallons in 9251.8 miles, an average of 12.88 mpg.
Our route took us from the Central Valley, through Barstow, CA to Las Vegas - then up I-15 to Bryce Canyon, UT then up to I-70 and east via I-70, I-76 and I 80. Then I-81 south to I-64 out to the OBX and then down to Jekyll Island, GA.
Got out of Jekyll and Savannah just ahead of the storm. Angled up to I-40 via I-95 and I-26 and then headed back west.
A great trip - met a lot of friendly folks (and some not so friendly). But we proved that we could stay in our little Cougar for 7 weeks without getting "cabin fever". Busy planning our next adventure

Jack & Marty: Thanks for posting. We're starting planning for a 2018 coast to coast and will keep your route in mind. Thanks again ..... Don
