5th wheel hitch

I'm looking to upgrade my Reese hitch to a hinsley trail saver or B and W comanpion any one have a preference over the 2 the trail saver is 2800 and the B and W is about 800 big difference. Also I'm looking at a new 14 or 15 ram 3500 DRW and there's an option for 5th wheel prep it's 400 bucks anyone add this and or is it with the money to have the factory install it.

Take a look at the Andersen Ultimate hitch.

I have the Ford underbed fifth wheel prep package. The Dodge system is similar and the cost is about the same. Installing the underbed hitch system is much more expensive after the truck is delivered as the installer has to work around the bed (or loosen/remove the bed) to access the hitch install points. I'd urge you, if you're ordering the truck and have any inclination to upgrade to a fifth wheel trailer in the future, get the option. Trust me, the bed rails in a conventional fifth wheel hitch system are a "thorn" to anyone who tows a fifth wheel. They either get in the way, prevent cleaning the bed or screw up the bottom sheet of anything being carried. If you can prevent having bed rails, for a "measley $400, DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That said, if you're never going to upgrade to a fifth wheel and you know that decision will never change, then it's $400 wasted.

I have a B&W companion hitch and it works great. It also allows you to take it out and have a smooth bed for hauling regular stuff. It is a great hitch for the price.

5th wheel hitch

I replaced my Reese 16K with the Hensley BD3 and boy what a difference. I have a 2013 Silverado DRW crew and pull a 2015 Montana 3610. You won't go wrong with this hitch.

X3 on the B&W. My 2008 F-450 already had the B&W installed I just added the Companion 5th wheel. Absolutely love the "no rails" system. Had a Reese with rails in another truck and the convenience is no contest.

Just ordered my new F350 with the 5th wheel/Gooseneck prep pkg. I had it on my F250 and it works great you can get a universal adaptor to fit most other hitches and the really nice thing is the truck bed is flat.
