Noticed somthing ...

Howdy All;

I have noticed lately, that when I read the postings
in the 5th wheel forum, when I have finished reading all the
new threads and click the ladder of (or string), forums to move
on, the indicator for that the forum that shows if it does or
doesn't contain new posts continues to show there ARE new
posts when there aren't...just thought it may be important.

hank

PS. it happens on both Windows 8 and Mozella.

Hank -
I haven't noticed anything unusual happening when I check new posts that appear in the 5th wheel forum - or any other forum. It's quite possible that I use a different method or process than you use when first reading or browsing through the new posts of the day. This might explain what is happening at your end and I also use Windows 7.
Sorry but can't help you out.

Hankaye,

I use the forum front page to check for new posts, not the "new posts" tab at the top of the home page. I click on each heading and open it in a new page. All of the forum sections that have new posts will be in bold blue. I then open a new page with each of the threads that is bold blue and read them. When I close those windows and go back to refresh the front page index, those sections will no longer be in bold blue. If, however, there is a post from 3 or 4 days ago "way down on the thread list" the topic will still be bold blue.

So, once you've read all the posts and think there "should be no more new posts" go to "QUICK LINKS" in the top blue bar and click on "Mark all posts read" and see if that fixes your problem. It might be that there are a couple of really old posts that you've missed along the way???? I hope this helps.

Howdy All;

Thanks both for the responses.
I start at the bottom of the General
forum and work my up then do the
Trailers section, again, bottom to top..

This evening I went back a page or 2 and found the
problem ...3 new posts that I'd not read before .
Everything appears to work fine now, keeping my fingers
crossed.

I've been "caught" by unread posts several days old in the past. Glad you found the issue without too much headscratching
