BAL Retract A Spare

Ever since I installed the new bike rack on our Cougar, I've had to carry the spare tire in the bed of the truck. So, I've been looking at the BAL Retract A Spare to mount the spare tire up under the trailer.
The rear of our Cougar underbelly contains the FW tank, a GW tank, the gas line entrance to the stove, water heater and furnace plus the rear levelers just behind the wheels. It looks like the only option is to mount it up front, ahead of the drain pipe and BW tank. I can't see the I beams due to the coroplast, plus there is a wrap of tin (I think it's called J wrap) that comes around about 12" under the trailer and is secured to the I beams. Again, the gas line travels down the curbside.
I don't think there is any issue mounting the spare tire under the front of the Cougar, but clearing the gas pipe is a problem as is access for nut and bolt mounting of the carrier to the I beam.
I could probably struggle through some mounting options but I thought I'd ask the forum brain trusts for any ideas for clearing the gas line (1/2") and working around the wrap around tin and coroplast.
Thanks

I had a similar issue installing the carrier. But I believe your gas line runs on the inner edge of the channel iron. Considering this try placing the end brackets of the carrier in the location you want and you should see the tubing for the carrier is well below the gas line. The self drilling mounting hardware attaches to the wide vertical web portion of the channel and rests on the flange of the channel. I did have to cut a triangular slot in one of the mounts to accommodate one of the floor brace brackets. Considering that I had weakened the mounting plate, I simply added a few more bolts to that bracket. Have had no issues with the installation or clearances.
