Tail Draggin'

Today is MIL's 75th bday and she wanted Cracker Barrel for dinner. Can't argue with Uncle Hershels breakfast. Anyway, called in a pickup order and when leaving saw this. Is it due to the slope of the lot? I think not but was quite concerned for them nonetheless. I don't have a weight police badge, so i just snapped a photo and brought back dinner like a good husband.

I clearly see the WD bars, I’m thinking it’s probably not set up correctly. That’s just my quick observation, and for the record you are hereby have “rookie” status in the Keystone forum weight police force”.

Is that tv a truck? It also looks from the pics that the rear tires are squished.

Well, you found yet another one - and no, that is not the slope of the lot. That's towing ignorance or ??

I've never owned a Ridgeline and wouldn't have one but my neighbor did and loved it. It was overloaded by his little mini 4x8, 12" tired utility trailer...or, 2 large watermelons.

Just goes to show you a wdh, even ineffective, can't fix stupid...... A Ridgeline....sheesh.

Thanks for the laugh Weldon., and yes, you have been designated "rookie" weight policeman with all the benefits and perks that go with it!

I think the Ridgeline is based on the Pilot. I assume it's a unibody, which isn't good for much of nothing.

OK, I give up who makes a Ridgeline and Pilot? Don't recognize either.

That’s the Honda blob or Honda potato I think ...it’s a easily unrecognizable truck/suv thing that’s similar to a bunch of other foreign trucks competing with the big three

It looks like it’s coming and going at the same time. Like a DR Seuss truck

Honda does make a nice solid car. Wife had a brand new prelude si when we got married, Had a accord after that before we switched to mini vans for the kids
Wouldn’t get a truck though

Yes that is a 1st generation Honda Ridgeline, about 1,800# payload and 5,000# towing capacity. Could not get the model of the Open Range it is connected to, so don't know its specs.
I do know that DD owned one and loved it, and so did I, AWD drove great nice V6. She moved to Bolder, CO from Portland, OR about 2008. We towed a U-Haul tandem axle box trailer loaded to about 4,600#, three adults, two large dogs, trunk with stuff and 4th seat with stuff. We didn't have a WDH, and it towed great DD and I shared driving never an issue.

I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but couldn't convince myself...

That's a new one, and I actually chuckled. Wife and kids looked at me like ive lost it. I'm used to it by now. 😂

It appears, from the window, refrigerator vent and range vent locations that it is a Open Range OT21FB. https://www.highlandridgerv.com/prod...orplans/OT21FB
Specs are:

Unloaded Vehicle Weight (lbs.) 4,170
Dry Hitch Weight (lbs.) 500
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) 6,000
Cargo (Gross) 1,830
Exterior Length (Overall) 25' 10"
Exterior Height 10' 6"
Exterior Width 8' 0"
Exterior Width (Slides Out) N/A
Interior Height 6' 9"
Fresh Water (Gal.) 48
Gray Water (Gal.) 33
Black Waste Water (Gal.) 33
LP Capacity (lbs.) 60
Tire Size 14"
Awning Size 16'
Sleeps Up To 6

If the tow vehicle is rated to tow a max of 5000 pounds, then at best, it's "outclassed by the trailer weight".

Now, Now, I'm sure it's just someone new to towing who hasn't got to get the airbags installed yet.

He's already met the AIRBAG that convinced him he could/should tow anything with that thing.

You need to get a bigger vehicle. One designed for towing. Way to big of a trailer for this small street SUV.
