Best place to stay in Quartzsite?

So retiring at the end of the year and we are looking forward to the RV show. Where is the best place to stay?

Thanks

Most people just park in the desert but there are some RV parks, what's your desire?

I am going to be an "old fart" but I have viewed some videos of Quartzite and....that just wouldn't work for us - like being sardines in a can. I will admit that I'm maybe close to a recluse when it comes to large gatherings (nothing to do with covid) but crammed masses don't appeal to us. To each their own and JMO/YMMV for sure. For those that enjoy it have fun.

Danny that sounds funny since you go to Florida with all the other "old farts" every winter, talk about crowds.
To OP if you don't have a reservation at one of the few rv parks now I doubt you'll get into one next season so do as all the others & drag up a piece of desert & park.

If you don't have reservations (and probably won't be able to even get a campground to answer their phone this late in the year) like TT said, just "drag up a piece of desert and make yourself at home"... Really though, don't be afraid to head that way without reservations. Of the 500 campsites around Quartzite, there'll probably be 600 trailers parked in them. When you get to town, head south on N Central Blvd. You'll pass the flea market and on the right, just past it is the LTVA visitor's center. Stop there and "inquire about camping". They'll be very familiar with directing RV'ers to the desert. In fact, if you just hang around the visitor's center for about 2 minutes, chances are someone else will ask the question and you can just "get close enough to hear the answers... You'll find hundreds more trailers and motorhomes "just parked in the desert" than there are in the campgrounds.... Find a spot that looks "not too noisy" and without "big dogs tied outside" and make yourself at home...

Quartzite is one of those places where EVERYBODY will break their "promise about towing" and fill up with water, use a blue tote and leave with holding tanks full....

Those with 38' trailers and half ton trucks that NEVER tow with water, pay attention, don't go to Quartzite or you'll violate your towing rules !!!!!

I go to FL consciously thinking about staying away from all the people and just being with the locals. That's why I stay in a small, remote area - zero crowds and what I consider chaos. Done the S/Mid FL stuff, Keys and all the "popular" stuff; not my style. Quiet, laid back, good folks and good food....I'm in. What folks think of "FL" is not necessarily what all of FL is about. JMO

I can vouch for what he says here. Where he stays is not what most people think of when you tell them you're going to Florida. There's the tourist attraction Florida and then there's the panhandle. Think more along the lines of south Georgia! MY Florida! (even though I live in Georgia now)

Most people probably think of Florida as wall to wall Daytona Beach and Miami. We have traveled and camped the entire US and Canada and haven't found that Florida is more or less crowded than anywhere else that snowbirds gather. This is a 'to each his own' decision that each couple must make. Brenda and I wouldn't winter anywhere we couldn't ride every day and wear shorts and t-shirts every day. We spent a good deal of time in the Sedona/Bisbee area of Arizona and loved the people and attitudes, but the miles and miles of 'nothing' wore on us and in three weeks we moved on. My parents wintered in Harlingen, Texas for about ten years. If you are a golfer and like cold weather then you're in luck.
We just found that in south Florida we're willing to risk the mosquitos every evening for being close to the beach. The state is fairly loose with the restrictions and Okeechobee is a great little medical center away from the 'big city.'
Yep, I know I got away from Quartzite, but just pointing out that there is something for everybody out there. And remember, you aren't getting any younger, get your fat butt in that driver's seat and get to Quartzite for the experience. If you don't like it then don't go back. Don't live vicariously through others if you can help it.
