Guilty camping treats

I was out shopping today for our upcoming 3 week trip - added to the cart were some foods I ONLY eat camping

SPAM
Canned fruit cocktail (in heavy syrup)
Little boxes of pre sweetened cereal

What are some of your "Only while camping" treats?

Haven’t been out in quite a while but it’s tradition to make a pork fatty. When DW and I first got together 20+ yrs ago, we would get a Mrs Smith Berry pie, but haven’t seen one in forever.

Eggs, bacon, and blueberry pancakes. For some reason we just don't bother at home but when camping it's a must.

Ah, bacon, eggs and "left overs". Rarely have it at home but at least every other morning I layer the blackstone griddle with bacon. We actually eat pretty healthy and have a lot of veggies, so the leftover veggies are used with the eggs for omelettes.

There were times when I was eating C rations (before the days of MRE's) that I would have "walked a mile for a can of SPAM".....

Sadly I don't get to go camping as often as many of you, but our camping trips are ALWAYS an excuse to roast hot dogs over a campfire! My dad and I ate many a hot dog while sitting on the bank of ponds fishing into the night. Being from southside Virginia, it has to be a red hot dog as well. DW would disagree and eat a s'more.

As a child I had Spam (with boiled or fried potatoes, pinto beans with corn bread, spinach and spring onions) for many a meal. Also had salmon cakes made from canned samon and slatine crakers, same sides. I recall buying canned salmon at the strore IIRC for 29 cents a can.

And the ‘dog has to be almost black, but not quite. Numerous cracks help also!

My mother would boil them They looked like they had been blown open with a firecracker. Fortunately my dad would slip some change and I'd ride my bike to a small diner (they started as a hot dog trailer during WWII) and they had/still have the most fantastic steamed hot dogs with steamed buns and homemade chilli I still go back there once or twice a year for a hotdog with mustard, onions, and chili. If I set at the counter and eat them I'm instantly 10 years old again looking outside to make sure my bike is ok.

We slice a package of hot dogs into about 1" chunks, pour a can of tomato sauce in a saucepan, add a jar of jalapeno peppers and set the pan next to the coals to heat them "who knows how hot" sitting by the campfire. Dip out a ladle full, eat a "dog chunk" followed by a pepper followed by more dog chunks and peppers.... It's great that night with lots of "fizzy adult beverages" but the next morning can get a little "spicy"... I think that's why toilet seats lift up: So you can get a little closer to the water to cool things off.......

Coffmans? I take my guys there for breakfast or lunch on rainy days..like going back in time.
My wife used to go there with her aunt when she was just a little kid..same chili dogs.
Progress is nice …. but nothing beats a diner that got stuck in a “moment in history”

Maybe a little out of y'all's way, but anyone familiar with the original Curtis' Coney Island Famous Weiners - Cumberland, Maryland? Still the same place, since 1918. They might be Steelers fans, but we go there anyway!

For some reason (I don't know the answer) we rarely eat bacon at home but usually do when we camp. I throw it on the Weber grill and sort of grill/bake it and it turns out great. Plus the smell of bacon cooking outdoors is fantastic!
