Stove exhaust fan
Are all new model trailers equipped with outside vented stove exhaust fans?

No, there are still some models that use a "recirculating" exhaust fan that only "traps grease" (inefficiently) and blows the smells and humidity/heat back into the room. When you look at any trailer, if you don't see a range hood exhaust on the outside of the trailer, look very, VERY closely at the range hood. Heck, some models don't even have the "range hood fan" in them, it's only a "unpowered shell" and to add "insult to injury" some trailers don't even have the range hood shell. There's just a "light fixture" over the stove. I can only imagine how well that works on the vinyl wrapped molding and shelving, not to mention cleaning the grease off that "light".....

My old 5er had one right over the stove that vented outside. The new one doesn't. It does have a Fantastic Fan in the ceiling in the kitchen though.

This is only my opinion, so others may not agree.....
Here's what I have in our range hood (ours is vented outside): https://www.amazon.com/Fabulous-Oper.../dp/B00VAAQ3VE There are several other members who also have installed this system and I don't think I've ever heard anyone complain that it's not a worthwhile upgrade.
A fantastic fan in the ceiling is not a very good replacement for a range hood with an efficient exhaust fan. There are "OEM fans that simply don't work worth a hoot" and a fantastic fan is better than them, but there's a "replacement quality exhaust fan" kit available that adds a "high volume exhaust fan". That kit is significantly less noise, works like a "home style range hood" and actually removes the heat/humidity from cooking.
Back to the fantastic fan: If you turn on the fantastic fan and draw the cooking grease/humidity/heat up to the ceiling, the grease is going to collect on the fantastic fan blades, motor and the plastic dome of the roof vent. While (as I said) it's better than nothing, keeping the fantastic fan clean and free of grease is not a "fun job".... In the winter, don't forget to clean it before storage... All that grease "smells like food" to any rodent, so they tend to be attracted to your trailer roof, drawn up there by the smells....
Better than nothing, but.........

I agree but, there is not really any other option.

Mine has one that vents outside. It is very underpowered and has one speed. Like others, it does have a fantastic fan in the kitchen which helps.

I am actually surprised that a gas stove would not be vented outside.

We had the same fan that John referenced above in our raptor. It was undoubtedly the very best $200 ever spent on that RV. It is very quiet and it is very powerful. I promise you would not be sorry in swapping out the vent a hood motor that you have right now for this system. Takes about one hour to install. Two if there are a couple cans of adult beverage involved.

Not an option, unfortunately, in our 344. The stove is right under the microwave, and there is a vent, but it cycles back into the coach. Maxx Air fan does a good job of venting, it’s just above and to the left of the stove, but I’d prefer a stove fan/vent.

Joe, if you look at the model number of your microwave and see the exploded view, you will probably find that it can be configured to exhaust at the rear. Certainly more than two hours, but might be worth the trouble, at least looking into it.

Mine is the same way… we try and cook anything that may need venting on a portable grill outside. Bacon, steaks whatever could have grease usually is relegated to outside cooking.

Have you unlatched the outside flapper on the exhaust fan? It is latched shut for travel to keep wind out.

And don't forget to latch it back before travelling. I have lost two of those flaps. And AFAIK they don't sell just the flap. Had to buy the whole vent assembly.

You can buy the flap without having to buy the whole vent assembly. The "trick" is to find it for the right price. CW sells the entire vent assembly for $21 and just the flap costs $17. Might as well get the spare parts for that price. Some places do sell "just the flap" for $6 or $7, so.....

Thanks John!
I'm actually in need of one as one of the plastic bits is starting to crack and it actually falls out when I undo the clips. (Stays in clipped though)
I have learned to clip one of my Remove before flight tags on there so I check it before I leave.

I use a 3' piece of "CAUTION ribbon" that I got from a "crime scene" (you know the "do not cross this line" tape police use)... I clip it on the vent outer flange with an alligator clip. So far I've seen that "long yellow thing" hanging off the trailer and haven't towed with the "flap flopping"....

I catch the Tags/flags when I do a 360 before departing.
One on the antenna (handle inside anyways),
One on the vent connected to a binder clip,
One on the stairs (I have forgotten those before I started using the tags)
I have extras that I will use as needed as well.
I used to have one on my king pin lock before I switched to the Andersen Hitch. (That was actually more to keep from bumping into the kingpin)

LP & Natural Gas stoves and ovens aren’t vented usually… at home or in RV.
