Uh, nah, I just lift the hitch off by leaping up and standing in the bed, squatting, grabbing the hitch and with a grunt, I straighten my legs to the sound of hamstrings snapping, L1 thru L6 lumbar cracking and two hernias popping, and while I hold it there, my DW drives the truck away.... Well I might be exaggerating a bit
. I mean I held the front jacks button until the hitch is clear of the ball (Using a Reese Goosebox).
The instructions are right there on the wall, you'd think I would have followed them. The problem for me is to squat in the doorway and then lift my head high enough to read the instructions with my progressive lens glasses (no mean feat!).
In short I skipped the step about using the auto jacks down feature. I have to believe that is the issue. I think the system has to know where the ground is and this is how it knows.
As to marking five inches to pin the legs is a great idea. I'm gonna steal it. Thanks for the help. I will know if I have to re-calibrate the next trip.
