Black Tank Vent Pipe
Last fall I discovered the toilet flange was cracked where it threads down onto the top of the black tank. Evidence suggests it’s been that way since it was built. So I have been replacing the rotted floor system in the bathroom this week, but came across something odd. The top of the tank is pretty flexible, which is ok. When I pull up on the toilet fitting, I can see the tank vent pipe going up as well. I am wondering if the vent pipe has some sort of slip-joint or flexible coupling somewhere in the wall? I really don’t want to tear open the wall, but there is so much vertical play in the vent pipe, I am wondering if there might be a fitting that let go?
Has anyone looked at how the vent pipe is assembled between the tank and the roof?
