checkpoints?

I saw NYC is doing checkpoints now to enforce quarantines on nonresidents.

I'll be travelling MN to PA soon.. going through WI, IL (ugh Chicago), IN, OH (Toledo, Cleveland), Erie, then in NY only as far as Olean before jumping across into PA outside of Bradford.

Has anyone seen checkpoints like this anywhere else yet?

My Plan A is to simply avoid all the silliness where I can.

We just towed Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois and Wisconsin and you wouldn't know there was anything going on if you didn't see the face masks. You are going to avoid NYC like the plague anyway, might as well go a little further south and avoid Chicago also.

We just got back to NH from Wisconsin, Michigan (U.P. And downstate), Ohio, PA, NY, MA and VT. No issues anywhere. The places you will see trouble is Metro NY, CT and RI. Those areas all have travel bans in place. I have employees working storm claims in those areas and had to provide the states a ton of personal info on my workers; where they are from, where they are going, where will they be staying, how long will they be there, license numbers, on and on and on. By the time I get the forms filled out, they will be back home.

Just like the previous posters, we saw no sort of checkpoint, most businesses required masks, some places restaurants allowed some indoor dining, other places not so much. Rural areas were more like where I live, mask use is pretty lax. Trip was west central Indiana up US31 to UP, across on 2 and a few others to Duluth, north shore then home through Wisconsin and Illinois. I would recommend routing around Chicago if possible because it can be a PITA with a trailer.

Just back from SW Colorado. No issues despite dire warnings from NM governor.
Only checkpoints I've seen were between Texas and Louisiana. That was pretty low key and mostly a "how ya doing?" from the Texas state troopers.

I just got back from a 4 week trip starting in south AL up though KY, IL to Duluth MN. Then over to a couple places in ND and then back home. No check points anywhere. I did avoid getting close or through Chicago, Minneapolis, and went right through the middle of Louisville in the middle of the day before the rioters came out. As stated, in rural areas mask use was lax but many stores had signs advising mask use required for everyone. In Duluth indoor dining was back on with distancing applied. Wore the mask in and out but off to eat obviously.
