If you look at the install instructions I posted in post #7 you will see that the original 4G/LTE antennas from the Furrion antenna remain in place and functional... The Replacement Winegard 360 dome with the TV antenna just covers over the 4G/LTE antennas...

Can't get WiFi to work

So here's what is left on my roof after the Furrion wing flew off. The components that I need to be able to use my Furrion router should be in tack, correct?

Yes, the 4G/LTE antenna stays on the base that is left from the original antenna. The replacement Winegard Dome only provides OTA TV and radio channels. But it is safer than the “batwing”, which is a weak build in the break point and I do not believe it is an install issue.

Todd - look back up a few posts, I missed it, a member had posted a PDF of the install the dealers are supposed to use. Looks like they are keeping the wifi/LTE equipment from Furrion and its all sitting under the dome of the 360. So they are making it a hybrid of sorts.

I missed that post with the install directions from KRumm earlier as well.

I just bought a 2020 Keystone Fuzion Impact 367 a couple weeks back and had to travel from Idaho to Kansas to pick it up, before I could leave the dealership they got same recall and they would not let me leave without replacing the antenna. The new antenna is better upgrade scans 360 degrees no more having to turn it, at home it picked up 56 channels seems like a good deal.

I have a 2019 Avalanche 333MK and my tv reception is pretty terrible. Although there is no recall for my rig, I'm willing to buy the Winegard antenna to get better reception. I have the Furrion tv/wifi in my rig. Has anyone replaced theirs and got better reception? I do not plan on ever using the WIFI part of the antenna, just need more tv channels.

We replaced ours back in July. We found out about the recall by accident. Our 2nd furrion had fallen off during a cross country trip in July. We are still trying to get reimbursed from keystone as they authorized us to purchase the new antenna from a local dealer in South dakota where we were vacationing as the torn of furrion had left a hole in the roof. Ours blew the keytv unit at the same time when the wind tore it off. The new winegard works great so far. Hopefully we'll get our cost reimbursed and we can call it done.

Lol. Yup. Been there. Our furrion did the same thing. The winegard replacement seems to be working great.

And better than either of these antennas is the Sensar IV antenna with direction signal strength indicator
I just got the Sensar IV yesterday - Install was very easy.I can/t say if I get more channels than with my Winegard omni directional (as I'm at home in the driveway ) but the new antenna even worked when it was collapsed down !
Also with the omni directional antenna, the tv signal would pixcelate when I moved around in the trailer,,,,,, very annoying ! The sensar IV had a strong picture no matter where I was in the trailer. I'm happy with it. Will give it a good trial next time out with the trailer. I just hope I don't forget to crank it down before I move the trailer. I've heard some stories where people have forgotten to crank it down and had it break from hitting branches or the wind on the highway trip.

Furrion wifi router

I went through the same routine with Keystone. Yes I now have a hybrid antenna system--Winegard antenna over a Furrion wifi system. I inquired about upgrading to the 360+ but was told the wiring revision was expensive. I have looked at the Furrion router but it is costly. Does anyone have experience with the Furrion router and how well it works?

Expensive?!! The difference in price from what I saw when I bought my 360+ was $30.

I agree the difference between 360 and 360+ is minimal. I was told they would have to rewire the camper as the Furrion wiring would not work with the Winegard. I wanted to change to the 360+. The rewiring is expensive
Sorry for not being clear.

I’m about to install my
360+ if this rain let’s up. I have the inside portion done (remove the furrion ceiling mount, 6 screws) I’ll let you know how (easy) it goes. It’s plug and play as I understand it. No different than the 360, just that the 360+ has its own LTE and WiFi. maybe I’ll even post some pics for others, if I remember to take the phone up with me.

On my way home yesterday from Kentucky, nb on I-69 a jeep rolled up beside me waving and pointing up. I pulled over and he did too. He said something is flapping around on top of my 5th wheel. It was the wing antenna, by Furrion. I went up while on the side of the interstate, a few tools in hand. The antenna had broken tabs that hold it to the base. The base itself is very secure. I unscrewed the 2 cables and brought the wing down to the truck. No damage to the roof.

Called dealer today and they'll replace it while I wait, on oct 9th.
Works for me.

Wi-Fi Furrion with Winegard 360

Our Furrion antenna blew off too... They replaced it with the Winegard Air360. I have the Hybrid of the Old Furrion Wifi extender with the router inside the RV that I bought. I am so disapointed that they did not just put the Air360+ in and I would have bought the $300 Winegard router.
I have a firestick that is connected to the campsite 2.4ghz and my laptop on the campsite 5ghz that has better uptime. During meetings I have to use a Verizon MiFi to make sure I have a strong signal and can't even use the old Furrion Router/Ant at all.
I think I might just go buy a King Wifi Max and call it a day. SO disapointed.

Antenna Issue

My Furrion wing came off this weekend. Thankfully, the cables remained in tact so the wing did not fly off into traffic. Anyone who has one of these may want to consider beefing up the connecting area or you are risking a major accident and potential law suit.

Upon inspection, there were no screws holding the wing onto the base...only a couple of plastic tab like connections...that are now broke off.

Called Keystone today, sent some pictures. I have a 2019 Cougar Half-Ton TT and they say it isn't under the recall. I can't figure out why the 5ers would be under the recall but not the TT if the stupid antenna is the same.

They said they would consider my claim but who knows how long that will take. I'm not really looking forward to a full summer without a TV and Radio. I'm sure that the repair places won't be saving me a spot so this could take quite some time to remedy (assuming they agree to do so).

Unfortunately, it also took out my vent cover so hopefully they will replace that as well.

Here's hoping they do the right thing!

I can't say this "for sure with any guarantee" but when looking at the roofline of a "flat travel trailer" and the roofline of a "mid-height fifth wheel", the antenna mounted to a travel trailer "hits the wind over the roof "horizontally" while the same antenna mounted on a "sloped fifth wheel roof" meets the wind "diagonally, pulling the antenna up (like an airplane wing)"..

When the recall first came out it was for fifth wheels only... Later, the recall was extended to include "some models of travel trailers, but not all of them"..

Again, I can't say this with any certainty, but it may be a weak design that hangs on in some applications (no recall based on limited failures) and that same weak design is "guaranteed to fail almost every time, when mounted at a different angle on the roof....

I agree with you, Keystone and Furrion "ought to do the right thing and fix them all" but don't get your hopes up too high. After all, as cheaply made as Furrion stuff is (notice I didn't say crap) if they recalled everything that has a Furrion label and is sub-par" the company would be in financial ruin.....

I've seen a number of recalls for products that work great in a warm climate but fail in a cold climate. They're recalled where it's cold but not where it's hot... This might be the same type of "limited recall"...
