I kissed mine goodbye. Currently in a tornado warning and awaiting possible golfball sized hail and 60mph winds.

Thank you so much for your kind words and prayers Gary! I made it through unscathed. It was a very stressful night glued to the tv and weather app. I got very bad thunderstorms but the large hail and tornadoes missed me. I’m passing on your prayers to the people who did suffer bad property damage and the semi drivers overturned on the highways.
Thanks again!
Jim

I changed a tire! Whoohoo, major blowout took out the fender well, shore power cable storage box, part of the storage area under the bunk & dislodged the power center! What a mess!

Just out of curiosity, did you have a TPMS On your rig at the time of the blowout?

Also, what brand, size and ply rating were the tires? What was the date of manufacture? storage conditions (covered/protected from sun, etc) and what kind of use had the tires seen? Were they halfway worn, sidewall cracks but not "too bad" etc ????

Installed the TireMinder i10 TPMS with four sensors. Was a lot easier to install and set up than I thought it would be.

Cleared out the shower stall to prep for epoxy paint to cover the yellowing of the stall.
Waiting for a little warmer weather before I can do that. We have a frost/freeze threat for the next few days.
Removed half the drawer guides in my kitchen to reinstall them with screws so the drawers hung straight. Has bugged me since I got this camper. They stapled them in instead of using screws making the slots for adjusting useless. The shower wall was so crooked I took that apart and moved it over straight a couple yrs. back, doing so also made the water closet door into a double door closing off the front from the living/kitchen area.
Love the screen door handle, one of best adds you can do imo.

no TPMS. had just checked the tire pressure 24 hours prior. I'm blaming tire age & prior owner usage.

I (personally) consider a TPMS required equipment to help in preventing such damage.

That's a rough one, highway blow out totaled our 97 Jayco a few years ago. Took out the wheel well, dinette floor and bench. We opted to keep and repair it. A friend works rv repair with a auto body shop background. Estimate was 4300, we spent 400 and a few beers while he and hubby fixed it in our barn. Might be a silver lining in there somewhere. Good luck.

Rainy day...so online. We are on a long trip (and only the second in our lives) but new on this trip are:
1. TPMS - (tst 507) - which as performed as advertised. I use the dash holder and don't need it plugged in during driving as the battery lasts easily over two legs (6-7 hours) of driving.
2. Champion Generator - (200961/2500W) Needed this on two different nights where we used HarvestHost and stayed withou power and needed AC. Worked great as long as you turn off AC when you want to use (coffee maker, microwave). But can handle anything in the trailer.
3. Softstart - (installed on the road) Did more as a precaution after monitoring amps through the EMS for each of my appliances. Works sell as it keeps the amps closer to the 13-14 continuous draw.

I just got through installing a new thermostat for my Airxcel 15K A/C-Heat Pump. Micro Air has a RV specific thermostat that is controlled via the touchscreen, Blue Tooth, and/or WiFi. It will allow you to completely control the thermostat remotely, provided you have a WiFi connection for it. It is controlled via a Phone App and you can change temperatures, set it up for high and low temperature alerts, monitor the inside temperature of the RV, and even turn the A/C back on if there is a power outage and then the power comes back on. This setup, combined with my newly installed Arlo Essentials WiFi camera will allow us to monitor our pet dog in the trailer if we are out and about.

Dewintering the camper (myself) for the first time. Flushed the anti-freeze out yesterday (thanks youtube). Tested the heater today. Will fill the water tank this weekend.

Refastened the supporting wood for the sliding bedroom closet doors. The original fasteners were destroyed by I30 from Little Rock to Dallas last Saturday . Replaced staples with screws and added additional screws to the parts that were originally screwed together.

Sold it. Got asking price also. We lived in it for 7 months while house was being built. Moved in 2 weeks ago.
Will start RV shopping again in a year or so. I think we'll go back to motorhomes.
