On the roof but not the roof issue

I was doing a little walk around the other day and noticed a piece of black material sticking up on the top rear of my trailer. I climbed up there today and saw what it is. It looks like a piece of plastic trim that sits in a channel to cover screws.

It also seems to have stretched (?).

My plan is to cut the excess length off and lay it back down in the channel and cover it all with silicone.

Does this sound like a viable fix or should I use something else. The edges are sealed with a much thicker beige material. I figure I will have an 8-10 inch run of silicone repair.

This happened to me and I tried to fix it. It was like chasing my tail because the quality of the trim that was on my 2017 Keystone was junk and it kept popping out. So I ordered a new roll and it's fixed. Super easy to do.

instead of getting messy with silicone
just buy new insert material. measure and get enough for all areas that need it. if one section has gone bad the rest are about to.

I did mine last year. Not hard, just tedious.

So the 1" that is listed is what I need? I already buttoned up fr today and can't go measure.

I can't remember the width on mine. The link I provided was for reference. If you look at the other link provided by Marine man for the 7/8 has a picture that shows how it is measured. Measure what you have and order what you need.

Get the 1”. If it’s 3/4” the insert molding will sit a little taller.
