Does it still attach to just the bumper?

No it is welded to the frame just behind the bumper. The receiver shank is a little longer to clear the sewer storage bumper. It is built for the RV application.

Bouncing Bike Rack

2018 Keystone Alpine manufactuerer installed 1 1/4" receiver hitch doesn't seem sturdy enough to support a Thule bike rack for 2 bikes. During last trip it actually broke a rear window. Looking for a solution before attempting a cross country trip. Alpine does not have a bumper to install a hitch. Would replacing with a 2' receiver hitch provide the stability I'm looking for? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
