Keyless/electric door lock

I'm in the market for a keyless door latch/lock to replace the common keyed FIC latch. Doing a bit of 'net wandering, have only come up with three manufacturer's for these locks; AP with mediocre reviews, Bauer which seem to be disappearing and RVLock which are about a 75-100 bucks out of my desired price range.

Am I missing some products or is this the selection for a towed RV?

Keyless lock.

I just bought and installed a Bauer keyless lock on Amazon. It was a remanufactured for $116 I think. Very easy to install and works great. Looked brand new.

I may be wrong but I believe the Bauer NE and AP are the same product, just different distribution channels.

I purchased and installed the Bauer NE last season and it is the best mod we have made to our TT to date without question. Very handy when the TT is parked on our driveway and convenient for quests when camping.

We just had to get use to it being a "light touch" NOT a "hard push" button pad as described in the instructions.

After the install, I noticed that the door skins were deforming more than I liked and I was concerned with potential water leaks. So I removed the lock, removed some of the foam core around the door lock opening in the panels and reinforced it with 1/4" thick pieces of wood that the lock now clamps against. No more worries about leaks and the mechanism seems to operate more smoothly. I also took the opportunity to offset the lock from the edge of the door appropriately to ensure the latch engaged smoothly with the strike plate when the door was slammed closed. I repurposed the original latch support plate that was on the door as a spacer on the inside of the door frame.

RV lock over priced

I've looked into this quite a bit and narrowed down to AP vs RV lock.

I like the RV lock v4, but at approx $280 each in Canada, I determine this to be out of my price range.

I have two exterior doors do I would probably have to buy two. I just can't justify the cost.

Seems that the Canadian 'version' of the RV Lock isn't much more as it's $269 from Amazon here.

The Bauer looks, as noted above, to be identical to the AP. Makes me wonder if Bauer has disappeared as a product name except for the RV Upgrades store who also sell the refurb on Amazon as it was pretty heavily advertised a couple years ago on many sites when I first looked.

Dang, I wish there were more choices and had hoped folks had been able to find other brands with good reviews. Of course, I could do as I did many years ago - just go to a hardware store and make one of theirs fit.

RV Lock is a winner works great super easy install plus you have remote to open and unlock the door. IMHO it's the best one in the market as of today. Got mine around Christmas when thay had quite a few promotions.

Looks great, I'd love to get two.

Do you have two exterior doors? If yes did you install two RV Locks?

My Passport 2810BH has two doors but I only got one RV Lock don't need one for the bathroom just the main door. RV dealer had them all for sale but the parts guys said the RV Lock was the best of the bunch.
