factory battery disconnect? what does it disconnect?

2015 Keystone Carbon. Has a factory battery disconnect. It didn't prevent moving the docking legs, so I continued to test it. In the off position ac still works, fridge still works, slides work, fridge works, interior lights work... I assumed it might not shut down the co2 detector and much but iI can't find anything that it turns off....

Is this typical on a 5th wheel? I understand that you might want to keep the battery available for vehicle charge / brakes, but how should it work?

If you did not unplug the shoreline, everything will still work because the convertor puts out 12vDc. Unplug the shoreline, and the switch will then do what it is supposed to do.

I just posted about this in another current thread for someone who was considering adding a second battery. I recommended that he get a battery switch and wire it so that everything is downstream from the switch. Otherwise, there will likely be a parasitic drain from something like the propane detector.

On my Carbon it shuts off everything except for the front landing legs and the rear stab jacks.

Thanks, Face down. Front legs still work - maybe a convenience thing - as they shouldn't draw any power. I'm going to put an amp meter on it and see if it's worth moving to a "full" disconnect.

Mine also shuts off everything but landing gear. I also always cut mine off when not using it cause it only takes about 3-4 days and it'll be dead, and that's just sitting in the yard not using anything.
