Closet Hanging Storage Pockets

DW and I bought inexpensive hanging storage pocket organizers from Ikea today for our Passport's front and rear closets. I thought others may be interested.

Other than some extra length which is not a problem since it just folds up on its own, the shallow SVIRA model (http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/60290290/) works well in the front closets on each side of the bed while the deeper SKUBB model (http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/pr...876/#/70250811 but in blue) works well in the rear closet beside the entrance door. Much better use of the closet space now. Previously the top space in the closets were always empty.

One added benefit is you can now see the contents in the closet with the light colored pockets vs the dark wood tones.

My wife uses something like that in her closet next to the bed to put her clothes in. I just pile mine in on my side. We do not need to hang anything while camping.

We use these they work great.

Rubbermaid Configurations Collapsible Modular Shelf Unit, 27 1/2-inch, Natural (FG3F22DWNATUR) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JF7X6K..._evqQvbMP6VE9X

GaryWt I agree with you easier to pile it. But DW is happy with hers.

Haha, I also pile my stuff! I do not worry about wrinkled shirts when camping.

But the DW wants matching closet spaces. One never knows when a closet may be opened when guests are visiting.

Slow,

Those look great. I think I will get one of each for my rig. Great way to make use of the space.

I have these in the bedroom closets and you sure can pack alot in them and there's still room on the sides to hang dress shirts and jackets.

GrumpyG,

Turns out that two of the SKUBB model fit in the rear closet of the 23RB with room for hanging cloths. So the wife is buying another. That way the middle rear closet shelf gets freed up for shoes.

Thanks for that. I'm single and I camp alone, so I don't need as much storage as some. I think one of your storage units in one of the front cabinets and one in the rear would be more than enough for me.

Thanks so much for this suggestion. Will work wonderfully.

An update:

After using the closest rods with hanging storage pockets a few months, I replaced the plastic closet rod holders with 1 x 6 wood that I bored a hole in for the rod and stained to match the cabinetry. The plastic closet rod holders were starting to deform around the mounting screws.

We travelled over 7,000 miles to the east coast last fall, without any issues with the heavily loaded closet rods in the rear closet and both closets next to the front bed. Modifications (closet rod 1 x 6 supports and the hanging storage pockets) are well worth doing.

I will take some pictures and place them in an album when I get the trailer out of indoor storage in just over a week.

Is it the hanging pocket storage pockets or the new wood rod mounts you are interested in?

We had miserable weather last week so I just pulled the TT out of storage this evening.

The pictures of the wood rod holders are in this album: http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/album.php?albumid=754

All the screws were attached to frame work behind the wall panels. Next to the bed I also anchored the rod holder by running a couple of screws from inside the cabinet above the bed into the top of the wood rod holder. (I forgot to take a picture of that side, sorry.)

BTW: I made paper templates to get the shape right for the bedside rod holders.
