Pin Weight
Ok, not RV specific, but I just have to wonder after reading so many threads on weights...
Have you guys ever seen a medium duty truck (350, 3500 DRW) towing a car hauler and all the load is forward of the trailer axles? I’ve seen some examples and I can only ever wonder what their true pin weight is. For example, I’ve seen a 35-40’ car hauler gooseneck, empty except a Ford Super Duty loaded straight over the goose ball. We know the truck is probably 7-8,xxxx lbs + the trailer pin weight. How is the tow vehicle not overloaded on payload? But then, people might say it’s a dually, it’s ok? It makes me wonder becuase I often see the answer is get a dually for your payload. The more I read about trailers, tow vehicles, tires, weight numbers and rating I’m always curious when I look at someone’s setup, RV or not.
