Nice job - will have to look into a similar mod. Where did you purchase the light and switch?
Our RV does not have a scare light or a light above the door. The door and scare lighting is the LED awning lights.
The previous fifth wheel we owned had a amber light above the door and a scare light on the front - passenger side. We have seen fifth wheels with a scare light on the drivers side of the RV mid way down and one on the passenger side front.

Our 2011 Cougar 318SAB 5er had a scare light on the driver side. Never quite figured out why. The current TT has it on the passenger side which makes more sense to me.

I got the light and the switch at Camping World, but have also seen the light on Amazon.
I thought about adding another on the driver side, for those times setting up at night and needing to see the sewer, hose etc.

I don’t know why they call it that, but, I assume to scare away animals off your site, or unwanted people? I think flood light is probably a better term.

I think of a scare light as something that would be controlled by a motion detector so if someone walked up to the RV it would automatically turn on.

Nice job. This will be a nice addition when you need some extra light at night.

I assume you have a cabinet or something on the inside from your new light in order to get wiring to it...

Yes, it’s located behind the microwave. I tapped into the 12v for the stove hood. I just pulled the microwave out and did everything behind it. No wires visible that way.
