How do I determine the model year?

I just received my tag renewal for the TT and noted the state had it down as a 2015 model year; I didn't notice this before. The TT was built 8/2014, but the trailer TRA/REM (on the sticker on the side) indicates a BL19FBPR15.

Does the "15" at the end of this sequence indicate the model year? I always thought it was a 2014 model, as we bought it at a year-end (2014) clearance sale. I've included a photo of the pertinent area of the label I mentioned. Maybe TT model years are like cars?

Thanks.

That late in the year I would think it was a 15. They usually start the new model year change around June.

Thanks. I don't know if FL pro-rates tags based on year (MS did when we lived there), so I just want to make sure the info they have is correct.

Take a look at the Actual V.I.N. number....it is a 17 digit Alpha/Numeric numbering system. Then, start at the last number and count backwards to the 8th digit. That will be the code for the model year.

2011=B
2012=C
2013=D
2014=E
2015=F
2016=G
2017=H

So, for example... if your V.I.N. is 1A27156BCEY120158.....the "E" tells you that you have a 2014 model. If that 8th digit from the end is a "G"...you would have a 2016 model........and so on

Hope this helps.

"F" it is. Thus a 2015.

Thanks.

I sold cars/truck for living for a short time, then motorcycles for about 3 1/2 years.

Change the digits information on post #4 from 16 to the real number of 17. You can read a VIN from left to right or right to left and learn the information by the location of the digit. You need all 17 to learn everything. Just the last 6 can be checked for stolen. Even thou a Toyota car and a Travel trailer may share the same last 6 digits. Any cop should know the difference or should not be checking VINs.
As to what post #1 was showing on the label I have no idea what that means. It could be something Keystone does for there reasons. Unless it is part of the trailer VIN. Without reading the whole Federal standards sticker, purchase contract or title I do not know. Upon rereading the numbers my guess is it is the trailer model and the last 2 digits show year.

I guess it's been too many years ago that I sold cars/trucks/motorcycles....you are correct.....17 digits, not 16. I always count from the back or last number....and go back 8 places. Thanks for catching my mistake.......I edited my #4 post to make it correct now.
