Fresh Water Connection Is Diificult To Fill

So I just upgraded to a 2015 Raptor and on my first trip I had an issue filling my fresh water tank. You see the campsite that I have been going to for years has a hose with no fitting. This has never been a problem since my last two trailers simply had a cap I removed for the fresh water fill and all I had to do was stick the hose inside of it. Well this new design combines both the city water and fresh water connection and there is some type of pressure fitting on the inside that needs to be pressed in to fill the tank. I can no longer just stick the hose inside and let the tank fill. Has anybody else ran into this issue? Am I doing something wrong?

If there is water at the campsite, the hose generally is not there. You should bring your own hose so you know it is clean and not use one that is there. I would not fill the tank if I had water at the site. If you fill at home or someplace that has a faucet, use your hose, connect both end and move the lever to fill tank.

Ok I did not explain myself correctly. The dump and fill station is across the road so I do have to fill there before I set up camp. Also there isn't a connection for my hose and the hose there is clamped on.

My only other thought was to buy a fitting to fit the hose already there.

I would NEVERTHELESS fill my FW tank with a hose at a dump station. Hopefully you are saying they are in to separate places across the road.

That is going to depend on the dump station. The campgrounds we use a lot (NYS DEC) have a drinking water fill post about 40 yards away from the actual dump drains. The water at the dump drains is specifically marked not to be used for filling your fresh water tank.

Three lanes, short wait times!

Yes the fill station and the dump station are about 30ft away and the hose is set up so they it is impossible to pull it inside your trailer. There are signs properly labeling which one is which.

I'm not understanding your problem, but it's probably me.
Are you're saying there is a hose with no fitting on the end to screw into your fresh water fill fitting?
Assuming your water tank is at the rear of your trailer, go where the tank is and look for the vent. It will be a flat plastic cover on the outside wall of the trailer. It should be about 2" x 2", and protrude maybe a 1/2". The cover will slide off vertically to reveal the vent. You can pull the mesh screen out, stick the hose in there, and fill. When full, install the screen and slide the cover back on.

Kojak, I believe that Gearhead probably has the best idea, or you can simply snip the end off an old garden hose you have laying around the garage (Yes, you do too! Look harder!) Buy a 1/2 inch nipple at HD and a radiator clamp and just use that on the hose at the campground. Just remember to take it with you when you leave.

10-4 guys. The cut off hose with a connector sounds like a plan. Also, maybe it's time I start exploring new campsites. Thanks for the help.
