Said goodbye to the Montana

My parents purchased the Montana new is 2011. In 2018 they decided to pick up a new 2018 Montana, 6 slides, very nice. My wife a I bought the 2011 Montana and used it as much as we could. South Carolina, Glacier national park, Yellowstone, we went all over. We loved the Montana but it did not accommodate our kids or utility vehicle toys. We looked at so many models and our Montana had a rear kitchen which was hard to match so we primarily looked at similar floorplans. Friday we drove from Texas to Kentucky and made a trade then went straight to the Smokey mountains and set up camp. Sad to have let the Montana go, but very happy with our new choice. 2021 Raptor 423

Nice and cool here at the Smokey MT KOA. Short drive to a lot of fun things to see and do! KOA is pretty empty right now, never stayed anywhere that wasn't slammed busy, kind of nice.

Wild- we were looking for reservations for next week and they wouldn't even entertain them. Have a good stay, and hi from mid-Tennessee

There is a reason that a couple three years ago Keystone ran their 100,000th Montana off the line. We have RV's for many years, been to more shows and the like than I can remember, and Montana still delivers a quality product. I suppose it will be a good two weeks before that smile leaves your face!

About a month ago we tried getting a site there, it was booked. We found one for the week over the hill at a KOA in Cherokee.

Wow. We stayed at Cherokee last year. Loved it. As far as this year we are almost all alone here. Click image for larger version

Welcome

Nice looking rig. We are waiting to take delivery on a 2020 Carbon in a few days. Check out Grumpy Bear Campground near Bryson City. Nice folks.

There are a lot of rv camp sites in Cherokee, most are closed for the season now. This KOA is very large. Golf carts for rent, three wheel bikes for rent, indoor and outdoor pools. Very family oriented. Personally, I’m glad we’re backed in way in the back. The indoor pool area is loaded with kids and as I passed by earlier the noise from them was deafening.

We live in Townsend TN at the Cades Cove entrance to GSMNP. Normally it is a ghost town this time of year but not this year. All campgrounds in Townsend are full, as is the Cades Cove campground. I guess everyone decided to come to the mountains for Thanksgiving instead of attending family gatherings. Good for our economy!
