Our long time traveling companions from our Navy years frequently traveled with us in the summer months. Betty is from Peoria, IL and one year we went there early and spent a month with them before trekking west.
Our parking site at Peoria was at the Mt. Hawley MH Park. The sites were FHU 50 AMPs and spacious. The park is kept very clean and has individual mail boxes making it easy to get mail forwarded.
It was in a location making everything in the surrounding areas very accessible. We could wash our truck once a week and the trailer once a month. We did both of them prior to leaving.
In the pictures you will see that our friends had a Pride fiver. At the end of our travels together that year the Pride was completely destroyed by fire while parked at the Naval Air Station, Lemoore, CA. They were off visiting friends and something electrical caused the fire. By the time someone discovered the fire the fiver had burnt completely in half. We were in AZ at the time and only saw pictures of the remains. The base commander put them in a furnished cottage at the Navy lodge until they could get a new trailer which was their Montana. Then they came to AZ to spend the rest of the winter with us.
